VTBuilder
Basic Menu Commands
- Project
- New
- Clears the VTBuilder workspace to begin a new project.
- Open Project...
- Opens a previously saved VTBuilder Project.
- Save Project
- Saves Project containing info on all layers as a vtb
(VTBuilder Project File).
- Special
- Exit
- Edit
- Delete
- If the current layer has some elements selected, they are
deleted. Otherwise, the current layer is deleted, after you are
asked to confirm.
- Deselect All
- Deselects all selected elements in the current layer (eg. all
roads in a road layer).
- Invert Selection
- Toggles the selection state of all elements in to current layer.
- Crossing Selection
- This option affects interactive selection of elements. When
true, any part of an element inside the selection box will
selected. When false, only elements entirely within the selection
box are selected.
- Layers
- New Layer
- Creates a blank layer of selected type.
- Open Layer
- Opens any type of layer (e.g. Road, Building, Water) and adds it
to the current project.
- Save Layer
- Save Layer As...
- Save the current layer to its native file format (e.g. elevation
as BT, roads as RMF,
structures as VTST)
- Import Data
- Creates a new layer by importing data from any known file
format. You will be asked for the kind of data to expect in the
incoming file, which helps VTBuilder to create the correct type of
layer. You can also simply drag-and-drop files into the VTBuilder
window. See Importing Data for more
information.
- Layer Properties
- Will display some properties of the current layer. Not all
layer types will have properties to display.
- Offset Coordinates
- Shifts all the data in the current layer by a specified amount.
This is useful to manually aligning layers which differ by a fixed
horizontal offset.
- Combine Layers
- This will merge ("flatten") all compatible layers of the
currently selected layer type into a single layer.
- Convert Projection
- Converts the coordinate references system (CRS) of all loaded layers
to a new CRS. The Projection Dialog
is displayed for you to enter the new CRS.
- Set Projection
- Changes the currently assumed CRS, without
converting any coordinates. Use this command if you know that the current
CRS (as displayed in the Status Bar) is incorrect, and you
wish to correct it. . The Projection Dialog
is displayed for you to enter the new CRS.
